The principle of the oneness of humankind is the pivot around which all Bahá’í teachings revolve. Bahá’u’lláh taught that humanity, after a long and turbulent adolescence, is at last reaching a stage of maturity in which unity at a global level can finally be established.
Baha'is Believe:
Bahá'u'lláh, Founder of the Bahá'í Faith, teaches that there is only one God, Creator of the Universe. Although we may have different concepts of God's nature, although we may pray in different languages, and call God by different names — God or Allah, Brahma or the Great Spirit — we are speaking about the same universal Being.
Out of love for His creation, God has revealed Himself to humanity through a series of Divine Educators. Each is a perfect mirror reflecting God's light in all its splendor. Their teachings educate and guide humanity and awaken whole populations to serve and advance civilization both spiritually and materially.
“This is the changeless Faith of God, eternal in the past, eternal in the future.” — Bahá’u’lláh
Bahá'ís also believe in:
-
the nobility of the human soul
-
the equality of women and men
-
the elimination of prejudice of all kinds
-
the harmony of science and religion
-
the need for the elimination of extremes of wealth and poverty, among its other teachings.
